Ervist-FORUM
online program – is a home for professional discussions/promotions of
advanced products and solutions. The Group’s operates Internet Studio where
partner companies, key customer representatives and media are invited. The program
started with the first webinar on November 26th and since that we have hosted 8
webinars. While the first ones were attended on the average by 30-40
participants, the final ones saw about 80-100 registrants.
On December 19th the
Ervist Internet Studio hosted the final webinar of Phase I (2013) Ervist-Forum
program: “Technical Overview of early Fire detection Systems Produced by
Xtrails (Australia)”. Dr. Michael Eliseev, Chief, Representation Office of Xtrails
(UK) Ltd in Russia was the speaker and moderator. This particular webinar had
82 registered participants.
Xtralis is the leading global
provider of powerful solutions for the very early detection of fire, gas and
security threats. The company is well known in the global security market as
one of the leading innovators, the one that implements advanced solutions in a
timely and effective manner. Xtralis is the inventor and pioneer of VESDA
aspirating smoke detection (ASD) technology and remains the world’s No. 1
supplier of ASD systems.
Ervist Group has a long
history with Xtrails: in 2009 we started first sales of VESDA,
and since 2011 we became one of the few official distributors in Russia.
After initial overview of the
company and products, Dr. Eliseev examined in detail two latest 2013 product developments:
Open-area Smoke
Imaging Detection (OSID) – the one that provides reliable,
cost-effective smoke detection for open spaces where fire detection presents
unique challenges and where very early warning is not always the priority; and the
VESDA VLQ detector.
It is interesting to note that the latter will be in distribution by 2014.
Dr. Eleiseev demonstrated the
schematics and how the device operates:
As it is usual for Ervist-FORUM
webinars, Dr. Eliseev demonstrated the device as it is, showed the way it is
calibrated against false alarms, and how it operates. With a specially designed
plate that imitates smoke the device was activated and the participants could
see real-time picture on operators screen (different colors represent UV and IR
spectrum).
Dr. Eliseev demonstrated a brand new product – the VESDA VLQ detector
- a cost-effective ASD solution that meets the unique needs of numerous small
area applications of up to 100 m². He also mentioned the possible businesses
that may require the detector: telecommunications landline remote offices, base
station controllers, remote base stations, small server rooms, data center
containers, critical equipment, packaged HVAC units, anechoic chambers, pump
houses, generator enclosures, signaling huts and modular laboratories,
At the end of presentation, Dr
Eliseev answered a number of questions that were raised by participants: mostly
of the technical character – what are the peculiarities of installation,
operations and maintenance.
Summarizing the webinar,
Mikhail Rukin, Founder and General Director of Ervist Group noted that the Group,
being an official distributor of Xtrails, maintains a decent stock of the
company’s equipment, its personnel is certified and authorized for design,
installation and maintenance of all hardware and software.
